I worked as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Nephrology after completing my training. I worked in the renal critical care unit for a year during my training period and later was in-charge of the same during my senior registrarship. This gave me immense exposure to the nuances of those renal ailments presenting to the Emergency Room and subsequently, ICU.
I am well versed in conducting dialysis sessions for both acute and chronic renal ailments. I have independently conducted more than 100 Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) sessions during the period.
Being trained under an Interventional Nephrologist, I had initially assisted and later independently performed non-tunneled and tunneled hemodialysis catheter insertion.
Peritoneal dialysis, a lesser known form of dialysis, was introduced to me during my tenure in Madurai. It changed my outlook towards this form of life-saving dialysis, which has been overshadowed by its counterpart. I have independently handled and treated both acute and chronic renal ailments with peritoneal dialysis.
I have attended to patients who have undergone Renal Transplantation, both by living and deceased donors. I have performed multiple renal biopsies in both native and transplanted kidneys.
